“No Place Like Home” – Keysis Life Night, Jan. 16

January 12, 2011

Keysis-Life-Night-LogoLet’s face it:  We’ve probably had some pretty freaky conversations with family and friends — ones that are not exactly full of love and respect!   If we learn to honor our family and friends, we will be more likely to bring that attitude to everyone we meet.  We are called to see and treat all human life as God would.  This Life Night will discuss family relationships and communication barriers, and give us practical ways to love and forgive those who have hurt us.

Join us this Sunday, January 16,  at Keysis Life Night for a sharing of food, fun, friendship, and faith.  If you’ve been busy and haven’t visited Keysis in a while, we’ve missed you and we’d love to see you!  Bring a friend.  Meal starts at 6:30 p.m.  Keysis runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Church, Angela Hall.

Isn’t it Strange? #2

January 12, 2011

StrangeIsn’t it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to a church, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn’t it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you’re at church, and how short they seem when you’re watching a good movie?

Spring Keysis Retreat: “Celebrate You, Celebrate Me”

January 11, 2011

Retreat-LogoPlan now to attend “Celebrate You, Celebrate Me”, the Spring Keysis Retreat on the weekend of March 26-27 April 2-3 at Anthony Acres Resort on Lake Sara in Effingham, IL. The retreat theme will help us evaluate our relationships with ourselves, friends, family, our community, and how our relationship with God touches and enhances all these other relationships. It will be a great chance to strengthen and build friendships.

We will be leaving St. Thomas at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 and returning around 6 p.m on Sunday. The retreat will culminate with Mass before we pick up and head back to Decatur. The weekend will probably cost each Keysis member between $35-$50. The exact fee will be determined very soon.

Pic_MidLakePlease prayerfully consider this opportunity to grow in your faith and please invite a friend. If you want to go — and we hope you will — please respond to the Facebook invite and you’ll receive more information regarding what you need to bring, fee for food and accommodations, etc. Or just let Deacon Kevin or one of the Core Team know you’d like to go on the retreat.

“Catholics Love Sex” – Keysis Life Night, Jan. 9

January 6, 2011

Keysis-Life-Night-LogoIt’s true!  Catholics Love Sex. How should we understand God’s plan for sexuality and the need for chastity in our thoughts, words and actions? During this Keysis Life Night we’ll talk about how the virtues of modesty and chastity are related to each other.   How can we learn to be chaste and modest in all our relationships and live with purity of heart?  And you won’t want to miss the “Battle of the Sexes” competition!

Join us this Sunday, January 9,  at Keysis Life Night for a sharing of food, fun, friendship, and faith.
