Prayer for Students Taking Exams
December 19, 2011

Loving God
be with me now,
as I prepare for my exams.
Thank you for the many talents and gifts you have
given me and for the opportunity of education.
Calm my nerves and anxiety, help me
to remember all that I have studied,
to express it clearly and to answer the questions
the very best that I can.
Holy Spirit, be with me in my exam — and always.
In Jesus’ name
Amen

Keysis Youth Ministry will sell fruit gift baskets after Masses on Dec. 17/18 at Holy Family, Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Thomas churches.

Proceeds will support the multi-parish Catholic teen ministry program and its mission trip to Minnesota next summer.
“Make up your mind” to Join Us for Trivia Night on Jan 21
November 8, 2011
Mark your calendars for Keysis Youth Ministry’s first-ever Trivia Night being held in the St. Thomas Church parish Center, Angela Hall – Saturday evening, January 21, 2012! Doors open at 6:30 pm. The event begins at 7 p.m.
All parishes in Decatur and Mt. Zion are invited to join in this evening of friendly competition, fellowship, and fundraising to support Keysis, YOUR multi-parish teen ministry program for Greater Decatur.
During the evening, members of 16 teams will put their heads together to answer questions in the categories of music, sports, general knowledge, history, current events, geography, celebrities, movies, the Bible, and more!
There will be cash prizes for trivia winners, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes. Some snacks will be provided on each team table. Soft drinks, pizza slices, nachos and cheese, brownies and additional snacks and desserts will be available for purchase. This is a family friendly event, so no alcohol will be allowed.
Start now by putting together your own team table of eight “great brains” by recruiting family, friends, and fellow parishioners! Decide on a creative name for your team.
.
The entrance fee for each table of eight players is $80. We hope you will “make up your mind” to join us for a great evening.
.
Act quickly – space is limited to 16 tables! To reserve a table for your team, contact Deacon Kevin at the St. Thomas Parish office at 877-4146.
Your support of the teens in Catholic Teen Ministry is appreciated!
Also… adults are needed to help plan and organize the Trivia Night. Many hands make light work. If you can volunteer a few hours for a great cause, please call Deacon Kevin. Thanks!
Keysis Calendar and Guide 2011-2012 is available!
September 14, 2011
We have lots of activities planned for 2011-2012 in Keysis. And we always have a ton of fun while growing in our faith – weekend trips, Mass, camping, retreats, a mission trip to Minnesota, social activities, and more.
Keysis Calendar and Guide for the year is now available. It’s loaded with information about Keysis dates and details for events. If you haven’t received a guide, you can download a PDF copy at http://www.keysis.net/Keysis_Decatur_Calendar_and_Guide_2011-2012.pdf
We meet most Sunday evenings at St. Thomas Church Community Center, from 6 to 8 p.m. You can enter the building at the South entrance, near the parish office. Call or email if you have questions.
Never been to Keysis before? No worries! Just show up! You’ll be warmly welcomed! New teens join us every week. Come and see.
Time Change for Keysis on Sundays
August 25, 2011
Beginning on Sunday, August 28 the starting time for Keysis will move one half hour earlier to 6 p.m. The order of the night will also flip flop: Our Keysis meeting will start promptly at 6 and the social time will run from 7:30 to 8.
This change will allow Keysis members to stay after the meeting for snacks and conversation or they can leave at 7:30 if they have homework or other things they need to do.
Remember that the Keysis Room has moved upstairs! Please start using the South Entrance to the school (near the parish office porch), instead of going down the concrete stairs near the parking lot into Angela Hall.
